New legislation in front of Congress would make it legal to carry a concealed, loaded firearm from any state into any other, regardless of local laws governing concealed carry or gun ownership. But are all states the same when it comes to gun dangers? New York City has achieved an unprecedented drop in murder and other violent crimes, widely seen as because of its strong gun laws, making it the safest big city in America. With deadly gun violence continuing to make national headlines, can we have a national conversation about what makes sense?
