Eric Schmidt is co-founder of Schmidt Futures, a philanthropic initiative invested in exceptional people making the world better. He is also the founder of the Special Competitive Studies Project, focused on America’s long-term AI and technological competitiveness, and executive chairman of innovation engine Steel Perlot. Schmidt previously held senior positions at Google, including CEO, chairman, executive chairman, and technical advisor to Alphabet. His tech career also includes executive positions at Novell and Sun Microsystems. A former chair of the Department of Defense’s Innovation Board, he was awarded its Medal for Distinguished Public Service. His service also includes multiple MIT boards and commissions and former Schmidt co-authored the best-sellers The New Digital Age, How Google Works, and Trillion Dollar Coach.
