
Nicholas Thompson
Editor in Chief, WIRED
Nicholas Thompson is editor in chief of WIRED, since January 2017. Under his leadership, WIRED has launched a successful paywall and won numerous awards for design and reporting. Thompson also writes for the publication, including two cover stories on Facebook that have been cited multiple times in Congress. He is a contributor for CBS News and regularly appears on “CBS This Morning,” CBSN, and “CBS Sunday Morning.” He co-founded The Atavist, a National Magazine Award-winning digital publication and multimedia content management system that was sold to WordPress in 2018. Thompson was previously editor of NewYorker.com and a WIRED senior editor. He authored The Hawk and the Dove: Paul Nitze, George Kennan, and the History of the Cold War.
